Winter Games of Idaho

This spectator friendly USSA sanctioned Giant Slalom course starts at the cornice on the Ridge Run with the finish just above the Lodge. This race is best of two timed runs and USSA and other rules will be posted and announced at registration. A Snow Ball with dancing and a special visit from the Snow Queen begins at 6:00 PM then a Torch Light Parade will snake it's way down the Ridge at 7:30 PM.

Pomerelle's Giant Slalom competition offers a relaced Giant Slalom style, high-speed course. This exhilarating race will prove; if you are in control of your ability, sharp on your instincts, have the right moves and the right wax, you will reap the rewards! Competitors will be required to wear a helmet. This is a timed elimination, two runs. USSA and other rules will be posted and announced at the race registration.

Elite Race:   This race is for the Expert/Elite physically challenged competitor of any age. Participants may enter the Giant Slalom and/or the Slalom competition. These races will be held on the Alpine course.

Mitey Mite events are for children ages 12 and under who compete on a regular basis in United States Ski Association (USSA) sponsored races in age classifications designated as J4, J5, J6 and J7. Children who compete in the Mitey Mite competitions are not eligible to participate in the Children and Juniors Recreational Giant Slalom.

Competitors will be judged on the difficulty and magnitude of maneuvers, the number of tricks completed successfully, continuity, fluidity and creativity. The format will be 1 or 2 runs, depending on number of competitors and conditions. Helmets are required. No inverted maneuvers. Over $1,500 in prizes to be given away and a raffle for all contestants will be held at the awards ceremony. Prizes by Newt & Harold’s and Greenwood’s Ski Haus.

Silver Mountain's snowcross contest offers high-speed racing in single elimination format with heats of up to five boarders or skiers trying to cross the finish line first without blowing out of the course. This exciting, grand-prix style race includes banked turns, rollers, jumps, and gates designed to separate the best from the rest. Competitors will be required to wear a helmet. This is a timed elimination event with up to five competitors in each start. USSA and other rules of boarder/skiercross will be posted and announced at the race registration.
